It feels like I have been creating all of my life,
whether learning to sew with my grandma, making sand
castles with my brother and sister, or taking art
classes. I am blessed to have grown up surrounded by
creative people who inspired and supported my goal
of becoming an artist. I majored in art and
education at Nebraska Wesleyan University and then
taught art for six years. |

| I loved teaching, but I always
wanted my own studio. This dream became a reality in
2000 when I left teaching to create full time.
I enjoyed selling my work to stores, at art shows
and online. I took an extended maternity leave
when my triplets were born in 2004. Since then, we
have moved to a farm with a 140 year old farmhouse.
We all love being in the country and in a home with
a lot of “character”. |

| I have set up the painting part
of my studio in my house so I can be near the kids
and all of the activity. They love to paint with me
and they are continually inspiring me and making me
laugh. My kiln is set up in my husband’s shed. He
has been very helpful getting my equipment set up. |

I can’t say enough thanks to Dave Faulkner for
creating my website, enduring all my little changes
and my many questions. He and his wife, Jan, are fabulous realtors
in Omaha. You can see their site here:
thefaulkners.com.
Thank you also to my good friend Carrie Roberts who
has taken all of the photos on this site. She also takes great family photos.
You can see more of her work here:
